Bright and cheap

A great pair of torches here, not mega bright but good enough for 2 AA batteries to power. Compact, well made and light weight, ideal to carry in ones bag or in ones car for finding the key holes in the dark.The Mrs has been using these to light the way at night if she has to let the dogs outside, she is very impressed. well recommended.

Nice, simple and effective torch. No fancy brightness modes, but sturdy and easy to grip. Using just 2 AA batteries makes them long lasting and easy to change.

These torches are good value, they are bright and take common AA batteries. Seem well made and the rubber case seems durable. For the money these are great value basic torches

Quite basic torches. Basically just an on/off button. But outstanding resilience. Pack it in the glove box with a pack of batteries and when you really need a torch, this won't let you down

Bright lightweight torch, smallIdeal for my elderly father

These LED torches only get an 'okay' (I bought two of them).This torch really is just a basic effort, and that's why it's only £2.00 I would suggest. I suspect you could find something similar in price in a pound shop somewhere, but haven't looked.The torch length is 15cm in total. The rubberised handle feels good and doesn't slip in your hand is also a good length but not too long at 11cm, leaving 4cm for the head. The head of the torch has a 4cm diameter, and the handle just under 3cm, so not a big torch by any stretch.The rubberised on/off switch is a covered button located on the top of the torch. It makes a satisfying clicking sound as it is depressed. Instant on instant off. Instinctively it feels like it will last a while.The batteries drop into the torch cavity like any other torch, and this torch suffers the same problems as all budget torches. As the head has a wider diameter than the shaft the last AA battery wobbles about unsupported and so it can be difficult to position the head over the contact when screwing it back on. This could have been resolved easily with a moulded support inside, just like all the others. But then it is cheap and cheerful.The torch is not bright by any means, although you do not get any dark spots like you would with a bulb torch which is a bonus. I compared this with my Maglite mini AA and they have about the same light coverage when the Maglite is focused to a spot, although this LED's beam is narrower and fixed, and doesn't stretch as far.Good for basic around the home/outdoor stuff only. Not very bright, so I wouldn't like to use it for walking (hiking)or anything, as it isn't bright enough and the beam doesn't reach far enough ahead. You'll probably need to spend at least 10x this price to for something for that purpose.
