Q: Can this be hammered down into the soil completely? We are wanting to create a barrier between our lawn and a neighbors.

Depending on the amount of stone or any other subsoil obstacles present, it can be. I used mine to separate lawn from a river-stone paved planting bed, to prevent out-migration of stones and encroachment of grass. To crib the stone, I left an inch of steel above ground level. I could have pounded it into the ground to ground level if all I wanted was to stop grass growth. You may wish to edge the border with a flat spade first to speed up the installation. You would want to be sure there are no underground fixtures--wiring or irrigation hose or piping. This is steel, and it is relatively sharp at the edges (thick leather gloves at all times while handling!) It is possible to trim the length if you need with a hacksaw and patience.

Q: It states these are 8 in depth. Is that 8 inches to the point of the tooth, or the valley?

The tooth. From the top of the spine to the end of the tooth is 8 inches.

Q: Is this the widest size you guys offer? I really could use a 10" (2" wider) version.

We don't currently have any plans to offer a wider version. However, EdgeRight holds in the ground so well you can have as little as 2 inches in the ground if you would like more showing above ground.

Q: Is it possible to overlap the pieces if the last piece used is longer than needed? Do the individual pieces interlock? Can you share a picture?

Yes. You can overlap and siamese the pieces together to adjust for the correct length at the end of your run. The clamps can be expanded to secure both pieces. I hope this helps.
