Q: When on your home network do you need the Hi Boompods app for Alexa to work?

Yes you do need the Hi) App. Its independent of your home wi-fi. Alexa only works via Bluetooth on your phone.

Q: Does this work with Spotify

Not yet, Spotify is not yet supported, we hope this may change soon. It works great with Amazon Music.

Q: Can this connect to other speakers in the same way an echo does?

No. As this speaker is Bluetooth Alexa it enables you can take it anywhere with you so it's not confined to WiFi like say an Echo is. As it's not always plugged in and 'listening' it will power down if its not being used. To use Alexa you press the Hi) button.

Q: Does this work with spotify yet?

You can stream Spotify via Bluetooth as you would any Bluetooth speaker, but you cannot press the Hi) button and ask Alexa to play something via Spotify. This can only work with Amazon Music.
