The Best Yet
This was the first book, so far, that I couldn't stop reading. Adding in Lilian's family gave us new, interesting characters for the main cast to play off of, and adding in Iris brought an interesting new internal conflict into the story. While siscon/brocon shows up quite often in anime and manga, Iris's love for Lilian is incredibly genuine. It may make some uncomfortable to see "incest" of this nature in the story, but I would suggest viewing it as a woman loving another woman (think the main leads from the yuri manga Citrus). Also, the kitsune world is open to same-sex relationships and incest relationships, and it's interesting to see Lilian struggle with her kitsune nature (and her previous relationship with Iris) versus her love for Kevin and wanting to respect his (and perhaps the reader's) views.Iris is an intriguing character (and has become my favorite) and one I can't wait to see develop further. Despite her deep attachment to Lilian and her brash, outspoken nature, we can see that there's good in her too.Aside from new characters, this story has a lot more tension and plot and explores darker themes by introducing a sadistic villain. While the drama can seem a little melodramatic at times, this story has strong world building and character development and is a really fun ride.

Good balance of light humor and the darker side of life with youkai.
Loved it! As other reviewers have stated this volume was a bit darker then the previous ones. And I believe this to be a good thing. As it helps to set the pace for future volumes, and gives us a glimpse into the youkai world that poor Kevin is headed for. Lots of foreshadowing about what maybe ahead for the group. Plus it shows that youkai are not the only ones who may have an agenda of their own. The only down side was the lack of info on Lillian's mother, and how she became the way she is, I just feel she was used more for the comic route then was needed. (Like breaking the fourth wall one to many times. Heh!) Overall a very enjoyable read. Keep it up!

Fun quick read with a touch of darkness
Lilian's family starts to live with poor Kevin, making an even bigger mess of his life. Besides telling about how he deals with it, it becomes clear that Lilian comes with enemies that go much further and much darker than spendex clad secret agents. It makes for a good read, but does take a step away from the light hearted humor of the earlier parts at least as far as the overall plot is concerned. All in all, good fun read. Curious were things are going, especially in regards to Lillian's mother and sister.

Goofball into knight in shining armor
We finally get to met Lillian family. I can tell the Iris and Kevin will get along just fine. Kevixs harem is slowly getting bigger. Christine confession to Kevin was sweet and I know she won't quit trying to win Kevin. Plus, the yokai are starting to know about the human threat. This story is getting good.

HAWA! Another Good Read!
~"For some reason, normal had become awfully boring these days. He blamed Lilian and Christine." Ch.1, Page 37Kevin Swift's life just keeps getting more and more crazy and that means the series is getting more and more interesting!Book 4 takes place almost immediately after the events in Book 3 with the introduction of Lilian's family: including a clumsy, childish mother; a kindhearted but formidable maid; and a sassy, stubborn, and equally sexy sister. With five gorgeous kitsunes living under his roof AND undergoing intense training to become stronger, Kevin's life has long since gone past the realm of "normal". Nonetheless, he's doing his best to live a happy life with his darling Lilian. Unfortunately, the yokai world can be dangerous, and there happens to be some powerful beings out there who pose more than just a threat, whether it's in the name of tradition or something more insidious. The writing style has improved ten-fold since the first novel without losing the charm and humor. Book 4, however, feels much deeper in terms of drama and emotion between the characters. The anime references are amusing, the illustrations are stylish, and the character development is impressive. Oh, and the occasional moments where Kevin and the kitsunes break the Fourth Wall feels a lot more stable and a lot funnier. All in all, Book 4 was a VERY good read.PROS:-Fascinating story-New characters-Character development-Plenty of humor-Beautiful artwork (my favorite being where Kevin and Iris shake hands)-Drama and EmotionCONS:-A missing comma on Page 66 (Loc 2572), but that's just nitpicking."A Fox's Family" gets a 9.9 out of 10.

Excellence!
This has quickly become one of my favorite series. Mr. Parnell has a true gift, the story is painted in my mind the characters are full and loveable, the series captures the best of short novel, and manga with the passion themes and joys in both eastern and western writing. My one critique is that there are some typos that must of slipped through the cracks. Again not a big deal but I know this might put some readers off. Again fantastic story absolutely recommend!

I love the arc that this story is taking. Fun, lovable, and yet you sense that there is something else going on.Love all the reference to other anime, and manga. Even the 4th wall breaks are funny.
