Woodland Scenics C1321 Rocky Ridges Small

Very realistic looking and ease to put into place

Looks good. A little pricey for what it is.

Please see the photos I've attached to this review. That will tell you more than my words will about this item. For all the ratings and reviews for this small Rocky Ridge, no one bothered to upload actual in-hand photos so I thought I'd do it. Many reviews claim that theirs look nothing like the the official product photos from Woodland Scenics. To those people I would somewhat agree. The item I have certainly lacks the same kind of coverage and shrubbery that the official product has, and it even has a slightly different shade of green. Whether or not this bothers you is up to you, of course. I'm not really bothered too much by it because I still like what I got. For $17 it's in line with a lot of kits you can buy to make a diorama like this. Still, I would not have bought this if I was just going to leave it as is. I will definitely put some work into it by adding more shrubbery, trees, rocks, etc.Anyway, in the photos I've included a Bandai Tamashi Nations SH MonsterArts Godzilla action figure for size comparison, as well as some Outland Models N Scale (1/150-1/144 scale) model buildings, and some Woodland Scenics HO Scale Everyday People figurines. Hopefully that gives you an idea of how big this thing is.

From the photo and the description, I thought that this piece might be too tall and too narrow for my diorama, but decided to give it a shot. As you can see, it is nothing like the photo or the description. The spray on moss sheds. It is only about an 1" tall. It's wider than the photo and I think, longer. There isn't much "stone" showing. Oddly enough, it is absolutely perfect for my diorama. I'm giving it 3 stars because I am assuming you do want something that looks just like the photo.

You would better off spray painting a freezbee brown and sprinkling green moss on it, save yourself $10 and have a much nicer terrain piece. Item came showing signs of distress to the brown plastic leaving white creases on the exposed areas, foliage is one single color, most of which is sitting on the bottom of the shipping box. Bought this as a drop in piece for my setup, will need to decide to either completely re-work it or just toss in the trash.

This is the first Woodland Scenic piece I have ordered. I will not likely order another.The piece is depicted as having clearly visible rocky ridges. However the piece I received is 99% covered in flock and the rocks are only visible in a very small thumb sized area.I will try to clean it up myself and scrap away the flock to reveal the ridge, and maybe my piece that I received is a fluke. But, right now I would not order again and had severe buyers remorse immediately upon opening the package.
