Happy to help! It should take 2-3 minutes for your water to boil. The more water, the longer it will take to boil.

Q: After the tea is brewed- i want to make iced tea- is the glass made of borosilicate glass

I don’t make iced tea in the actual tea maker. I’d be afraid the glass would crack as it gets pretty hot. I pour the tea into a gallon jug add ice to the top of the jug, lemon and sugar and stir. It’s instant iced tea and delicious!

Q: Does the basket move down for the leaves to be steeped?

No, water is somehow pumped up and drips through the basket.
