Brilliant bread storage bin with handy slicing guide.
Husband loves making bread with our Russell Hobbs bread machine. The smell of fresh bread baking wafting round the house is lovely, and it works out fairly economical compared to buying bread from the supermarket. Plus we know exactly what ingredients are in it. Unfortunately he is terrible at slicing straight and wrapping the bread up. The next person that comes along (usually me) gets a slice that is wonky as they attempt to straighten up the massacre left previously. The kitchencraft bread bin is great. Stores the bread well and has a handy slicing guide so even the most cack handed person can get a good slice of bread for toast or sandwiches. I love the fact that it is clear as well so, hubby can see immediately when to get the next loaf baking in the bread machine. Size is adjustable so it takes up less space as your family demolish the bread.

Bread box excellent, forget about the slicing guide though
I got a Panasonic breadmaker fairly recently and it's brilliant. However, if you don't eat the bread all in one go, it goes stale and hard quite quickly. Therefore, I was looking for something to store the bread in until it is used. "Normal" breadbins didn't seem appropriate, so I ended up going for this one with the bread slicing guide as well. It's a tale of two halves. The slicing guide worked OK to begin with but was very flimsy. Within a couple of weeks of use, several of the plastic guide "teeth" had snapped off and it was quickly abandoned. I ended up having to dig out my old electric knife to help me to cut the bread, and I now slice the fresh bread up using that instead (and with care and practice you can slice it just fine even when it is very hot and just out of the breadmaker!) However, the acrylic bread box is still in use every week and works really well. Because it has a couple of ventilation holes in it, it is OK for bread that is still a bit warm (I normally put a bit of kitchen towel under the bread to soak up any condensation just in case) and it really does keep the bread fresh for 3-4 days. Not only fresh, but soft as well. As a result, I can make a loaf on a Monday and still be making sandwiches with it for work on Wednesday. Perfect Bread Bin
After purchasing a bread maker to avoid the additives in store-bought bread, I realised I also needed a bread bin to keep my homemade bread fresh. This bread bin has proven to be perfect for the task. It is sturdy and effectively maintains the freshness of the bread. One of the standout features is the handy guides for cutting the perfect slice, which are ideal for the various types of bread I make. I find the thickness of the slices to be just right. Cleaning is a breeze; it can be easily wiped out or rinsed in the sink and left to dry. I appreciate the small vents on the sides that allow a bit of air circulation, which helps in keeping the bread in optimal condition. I had read some reviews mentioning that the bread bin moves around during use. However, I have not encountered this issue, likely because I use a high-quality bread knife and let the knife do the work. As shown in the photos, I have had no problems with cutting the bread. Additionally, as someone with a tremor, the guides on this bread bin have been indispensable, preventing cut fingers and uneven slices. The bin is spacious enough to accommodate longer loaves, and its clear design allows guests to see the fresh bread inside. The materials used are robust and durable, making this bread bin a great value for the price. My only criticism would be as I use a sharpe knife it does tend to score into the cutting base, but no different than what would happen on a chopping board I guess. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable bread bin.

Not bad for the price I paid
It's often difficult to decide if an unknown product is any good based on amazon reviews, even if it's got a high rating you wonder why does it have so many one star reviews, but I decided to get this product and it's really not that bad. I have recently got a bread maker so I needed not only a bread bin but something to help me cut bread so that I did not have slices that were wedged door stops. The bread bin is compact and does the job of keeping the bread fresh (not sure for how long as our bread does get eaten quite quickly). Unfortunately a medium size loaf only just fits so it's no good for a large one. The bread slicing guide stores inside the bread bin, you can give yourself and extra cm of height if you don't keep the slicing guide in the bin with the bread, but it's so handy to have it there you may not want to leave it out. The slicing guide is made of plastic so it's not the strongest item. I can see how you could easily break the slicing guides, but if you're careful the plastic guides will vibrate a little but not break. I've only been using the guide for a few weeks so we will see how it deteriorates over time but so far so good. The slicing guides are all one size and make ether very thin or very thick slices (if you cut over two slice guides), however if you cut the end as a thin slice and then push the bread into the end plate of the guide (filling in each gap made by the bread knife) you can get a reasonable sized slice. I've been using the guide on a wooden surface and it does not slip around as some of the reviewers have claimed. All in all this is a good but cheap item and my guess is some people wanted better quality but for that I think you need a wooden or metal guild which are far more expensive. I would not get this product for cutting bread purchased from a bakery as it's clearly designed to be used with bread maker sized bread. If you make your own bread this is a good and cheap solution for storage and uniform slicing. I paid just over ten pounds for it not the current listed price of about fourteen pounds, not sure I would buy it for that price, I might just pay an extra few pounds to get the wood guide instead.

See-through bread bin - how cool!
When I first saw this I thought it was a bit of a gimmick really, who needs a see through bread bin, and it has holes in it, surely it won't keep the bread fresh with holes in it as previous bread bins have been completely sealed off. Well my answers are nope it's not a gimmick, I think a see-through bread bin is cool and yes it keeps the bread fresh even with holes in it. First of all it fits both sizes of loaves I bake at home, but I have had to make sure I use a little less yeast than before as I have had a loaf that was a little too tall for it, but it's no bother to take a bit of yeast out to make sure the loaves fit in it height wise. Secondly it does what it is supposed to do and that is keeping the loaves fresh for the few days the loaf lasts! The holes seem to allow enough air in to keep the bread fresh but not to allow it to go hard or start to go off too quickly. And the fact it is see-through is great as it means you get to see you home made bread all the time, and also means that you can't forget to make another loaf it you only have a small bit left - unlike previous bread bins I have had where the loaf is shut away and I forget how much is left! The best bit is that once you start using the bread you can shrink down the holder and therefore it takes up less space - genius! The slicer guide that comes with it is good although I don't use it as I've been slicing bread for years, sometimes I make a wonky slice but I'm pretty good at keeping it straight. I'm not sure why some people seem to have problems with the sturdyness of the product as I think it's just a case of being careful with it. I didn't make marks on the slice guide with my knives as I was simply careful once I got to the bottom of the loaf when slicing it - and the rest is just being careful with it, yes its made from plastic and is quite thin, well just be careful with it then! Overall a really great product, and something I see no reason for stopping the use of - old style bread bins have now been left on the junk pile!

So simple and yet so brilliant!
I have never liked the idea of storing food inside something that can't be cleaned properly but when I first saw this product I was sceptical. It looks so basic and potentially not very strong. Well I was (half) wrong to make that snap judgement. Yes it is very basic but it is also very strong and very well made. The two halves fit snuggly together, not too tight and not too loose. I also think it is great that you can so easily adjust the size of this container. If I have one gripe, it is about the cutting guide. An absolutely brilliant tool for getting your slices more evenly balanced but if you are using a standard bread knife, you will find that this moves around too much. Having extensively researched the internet (a 30 second look on Google), I discovered that a good cutting guide needs to be weighted or have suction pads to hold it in place and be placed on a non slip surface. However, none of these suggestions offered me an immediate solution but as I was about to start looking for an alternative cutting guide I saw a suggestion about using an electric knife. That did offer me an immediate solution and I am pleased to say that it works perfectly with the existing cutting guide. I now have evenly sliced bread (I think I actually get more out of a loaf now and it is less messy) that stays perfectly fresh and best of all everything can be throughly washed.

Excellent bread keeper with slicer guide, one happy bunny!!!
I love this bread keeper, I find the bread stayes lovely and fresh, it can be awkward to open!! But my clever husband stuck a clear suction hook to the smaller pull out half, works a treat!!! And even I can cut nice thin bread now!!! We don't find the slicer flimsy just go carefully and don't slice right to the bottom,I use my slicer on a small board when I reach the bottom of the loaf I just take the bread and finish the slice on the board!!! How easy is that??!!! Extremely pleased with my buy, but will keep you updated when I have had it longer, I bake a panasonic med loaf which fits with plenty of space,an update on my bread keeper, it is still going strong very pleased with it, just bought another one for my son who loves his!! Mine has never snapped and we still have our plastic suction on half to open the container, I now use an electric knive to slice my bread( an xmas gift) and everything is fine I cannot fault this product,

Really works!
This was a gift for my daughter and she said she was surprised but delighted that it does a good job of keeping her home baked bread fresh and crusty.
