Love them
We’ve always had the die cast versions for my older sons but they changed the connection and we didn’t like that they were not magnetic anymore so we ordered the wooden train set for my youngest and it has people and animals they’re much more durable than I would have thought wood would be. Very pleased. Would order more of this set for sure no questions.

A slightly inaccurate version of Bertie.
Bertie is a character from Thomas & Friends, called Bertie the Bus. Bertie first appeared in the story, "Thomas, Terence and the Snow," which was a story published in 1949. Bertie later appeared in the story, "Thomas and Bertie," which involved a race between Bertie and Thomas. In the live-action television series which involved model vehicles and model people, the driver sits on the right side of the bus (not on the left side), when viewed from a person sitting at the rear of the bus and looking forward, as is the case with all vehicles in England. Also, in the live-action show, Bertie has a cut-away, where the cut-away is located to the left-hand side of the driver, and where the cut-away reveals half of the red-colored hood that covers the engine. Moreover, in the live-action show, Bertie has on the left-had side, a black-colored cover that is situated over the left-hand front tire, and that prevents water and dirt from being tossed up by the moving tire. Anyway, this FISHER-PRICE wooden version of Bertie does not have the required cut-out situated to the left of the driver, where the cut-out exposes half of the red-colored hood. Also, this FISHER-PRICE wooden version does not have any black-colored cover over the left-hand tire. A version of Bertie available on Amazon . co . uk, has a version of Bertie manufactured by GOLDEN BEAR, and made of plastic. This Bertie does have the required cut-out to the left of the driver's seating area, where the cut-out exposes half of the hood. Furthermore, a metal version of Bertie called, "Metal Diecast Take Along N Play" (part number, MPN: R9480) does have the required cut-out to the left of the driver's area, where this cut-out exposes half of the hood. This metal version is manufactured by Mattel. Moreover, FISHER-PRICE manufactures another wooden version of Bertie (cost $29.95) that does, in fact, have the required cut-out area to the left of the driver's area that exposes half of the hood covering the engine. The model number is BBT41. Little children are intelligent creatures. They will sense that something could be not quite right with this newer wooden version of Bertie, and they might not be pleased when they figure out that what is missing is the cut-out area to the left of the driver's area, and they might not be pleased when they figure out that the black-colored cover over the left tire is missing. Too bad, oh-no, oh-no. I own about 25 wooden train engines and train cars that are part of the Thomas the Tank Engine series, and these all sit on the layout of wooden tracks with wooden bridge, that sit on my livingroom floor. As part of my layout, I've included a couple of Theodore the Tugboat characters, which also sit on the rug.
