heavy duty enough for kayak
these work great to attach my kayak to the front and back of of my car. I use 2 in front and 2 in back, which is probably overkill, but I feel safe and have never had a problem.

Great for brew in a bag
Easily sturdy enough for my use but I doubt it will hold over 50lbs. As a note on physics, if you think that because something can hold 50lbs and that if you attach one to either end of a hammock (horizontally in tension) and believe it will hold 100lbs, you need to review your physics lessons on tension. These are absolutely unacceptable as a hammock connection, unless maybe it’s a hammock for a toddler. Will easily lift a brew bag from a kettle for brew in a bag type beer making. Will update with some pics

Great value and time saver
These arrived right on time, and was the package of 4 as described. They are a great value compared to what is available in local stores, which would have cost almost 4 times what these were. I use these as bow and stern tie downs for our kayaks, and, they work great! They are a huge time saver, compared to using a trucker's hitch, just hook them on, pull them taut, and secure the excess with a couple of half hitch knots. The carabiner clips are also more durable than the cheap "S" hooks that most come with. No worries of the carabiner coming loose if the line gets some slack in it, nor straightening out over time from use.

A Much Need Modification
Purchased these to raise my kayak to the ceiling of my garage. They work well ( tho one does work better than the other) but the problem comes when it's time to get it down. It requires a ladder to get to the gear release tab in the blocks, That's inconvenient. But I engineered a simple solution. I used JB Weld to fasten a longer piece of aluminum to the release tab so that it extends further out of the block. I drilled a small hole in the end of the tab extension and ran a line thru it up thru the eye screw in the ceiling and back down toward the floor. Now all I have to do to get my kayak down is pull on the release string while holding the block line. Sure would be nice if they just made the release tab longer.

strong and easy to use
I was able to easily hoist a 90 pound dehumidifier to the ceiling in my basement with these four hangers. The quality and strength are outstanding.

Brittle ABS plastic housing, metal geared, carabiners may not be rated; questionable 150lbs load rating
I bought these to use as bow and stern tiedowns for kayaks...mostly because they were the cheapest per piece on Amazon Prime ($4.50/piece at time of writing). The pros are these come with metal gears, release, and a stiff spring. The cons are the housing it all sits in is thin ABS plastic, and I really have doubts it could support 150lbs if you tried. Another downside to the plastic is by dropping it on hard pavement you can potentially crack them and make them useless. The listing says 8-foot of rope included, but mine was 7-foot at best, and that's including taking the rope out of the ratchet mechanism. The carabiners are a nice touch instead of open hooks, but the carabiners are very small...and may not fit around some tow-hooks. I'm also not even sure if the carabiners are load-rated, or were just intended for keychains that the Chinese factory ordered in bulk supply?.I am somewhat weary of them. You do get what you pay for. Because these are mostly used as a secondary safety in my application, and won't see a constant load, I think they'll be fine, and I can make them work with replacing the rope with new longer stuff and possibly getting better hooks.

Valuable equipment for boat tie downs
Used these to secure kayak bow and stern to car roof rack. They are durable, easy to operate and come with sufficient thickness of tie down rope. All provided attachments seem secure to easily handle a 15 foot kayak. Great value for the money as other shops often charge the same amount for only 2 tie downs

Excellent Value
If carabiners is what you want it's an excellent product so far. Use it for the stern ties of my canoe on car roof and so far it's easy to hook onto my quick loop handles in the trunk and it's easy to setup/take-off.
