Basics of Biblical Hebrew Workbook: Third Edition (Zondervan Language Basics Series)

This is an essential book for anyone beginning to learn Hebrew. I bought it because it was recommended by a seminary and it’s been very helpful. The book begins by introducing the Hebrew alphabet and vowels and moves on to the basics of Hebrew nouns, verbs and Qal and Derived stems. The textbook concludes with a section on reading and studying the Hebrew Bible. This contributes to the depth of one’s understanding of Old Testament Scriptures. The authors have made many contributions to the study of the Hebrew language.

My son is learning ancient Hebrew in order to understand the Bible in a deeper way. This is another great tool To aide his pursuits.

I really like this book, it helps me to study Hebrew a lot, and I couldn't stop reading it, because it really worth that money even it looks expensive. My professor and teachers used this as the textbook, and they really highly recommand this book to students who really want to study Hebrew!

A great and detailed book about the grammatical complexities of Biblical Hebrew that renders it very easy and accessible to master this Great biblical language and to greatly understand God's Eternal Word in a much clearer way. After having completed the entire workbook, i found it to be quite useful. Much improved (for the most part) over the previous edition. The exercises have been pruned & streamlined this time. And having completed it, I especially appreciate the extra 200 parsing exercises at the end. They're very useful for doing a few per day, every day, to maintain/refine your parsing skills. And when you complete all 200 in a couple months, start over again. Unfortunately, most of the Hebrew Composition exercises from the previous edition have been removed, but that's not a disaster because they weren't well done in that edition anyway. If you want Hebrew Composition (and you probably do if you want to get any good at Biblical Hebrew), then you want to use old Weingreen's Grammar for that part. Btw, answer keys of a sort CAN be found for Weingreen if you search hard enough. Maybe someday i'll post my Weingreen answers compilation from the old HebrewStudy forum somewhere if i ever get done editing it. This new workbook edition (and especially its answer key) does have a few typos, unfortunately. Could use a little more proofreading. Though perhaps the answer-key typos aren't so bad after all -- they help to keep the student honest...

This is the required workbook for the Hebrew course.

You need instructors in a classroom situation to get the most out of this book. My instructors are great!

El libro está muy bien para aprender hebreo por uno mismo. De manera sencilla y comprensible. Esta 3ª edición corrige algunos ejercicios en el libro de gramática, mejora el apartado visual, más claridad y mejora la relación entre el vocabulario y los temas. Recomiendo su compra. En el apartado negativo, el libro de ejercicios, viene con unas manchas de tinta en algunas hojas. El libro de gramática la calidad del papel y de la tapa es muy mejorable.
